- 0 Black Backs are some of the most desirable pieces of US currency extant.  Flanked to the left by our fifth President James Monroe, this is a sensationally rare item that is absent in most high-end currency collections.  With only 8 examples available to own (12 known, 4 impounded in museums) finding another example is unlikely.  And this example is a beauty with its large brown seal, dark vivid print and exceptionally black ink on the reverse.  PMG would agree for they graded this note tied for the FINEST KNOWN with only one other note.  And upon closer inspection, we are confident that you will agree that this note is “PQ” for the grade and that it makes a very strong argument for belonging in an “AU” holder.  All in all, this a very charming note and whoever decides to add this rare specimen to their collection will bring years of satisfaction and delight.
