    Slightly smaller than the U.S. Large Cent it was privately produced to replace, this Bronze Hard Times Token is a satirical statement on the floundering economy during the Jackson and Van Buren Administrations. Their manufacture became necessary and popular as many citizens were hoarding U.S. Coinage.
    This historic example exhibits much of its original detail, but a few dings can be hammered out...
