    Description

    Pair of vintage
1950s/1960s items from Carter's Big Burger restaurants.  First, there's a "Take Home Menu."  This menu is small; it's 3.5" X 6" when folded, and 6" X 10.5" when fully opened.  The menu lists 13 Carter's Big Burger restaurants - 11 in Cincinnati and southwestern Ohio and two in Indiana.  The menu features the "Big Burger," which is Carter's version of the famous Big Boy hamburger.  Menu also features Colonel Sanders' Kentucky Fried Chicken.  Someone has written "June 67" on the front of the menu, although I don't know if that's accurate.  Other than the handwritten date, the only other blemish on this menu is a piece of yellowed tape along the left edge of the front page.
Also included is a glass ashtray from Carter's Big Burger.  There's a very cool and colorful illustration of the burger at the top of the ashtray; the lower half lists five locations, including two in the Cincinnati area, two in Indiana, and one in Newport, Kentucky.  The ashtray is in near mint condition. There's a small wear spot in the outer circular graphic in the upper right corner of the ashtray, probably done by a cigarette.  No chips, cracks, or other damage.  Ashtray is about 3.5" X 4".  I suspect that this ashtray is from the mid or late 1950s.  These items would make a great addition to any collection of vintage Carter's Big Burger memorabilia.
