I got this two days ago, didn't even know what a kalimba was until like four days ago and I've already learned 3 full songs. It's incredibly easy to learn if you focus and practice (I play piano as well so I feel that if you play piano there is a significant advantage at getting the hang of this a bit quicker).
I've attached a video of the sound, first just the scales and then how it sounds when some song is being played. The sound blew out my microphone on my phone a little bit so it sounds a bit scratchier in the video than it does in person.
Also, it feels well made. I don't have anything to compare it to because this is the only one I've ever owned or known, but it feels sturdy, the engraving is pretty and it sounds nice. Also comes with some tools to tune it if needed and a little learning booklet (although, I found youtube tutorials more helpful- look up "kalimba tabs")

I was looking for something to get as a gift for my son who likes collecting instruments from everywhere. One of my friends had a thumb piano and I was asking about it. They had a Gecko and it was nice but they had some complaints about it. I thought it would be a great gift so I got on Amazon to do some research. I found one that looked nice and decided to get it. It came very quickly. It came with rubber thumb picks that fit a kids thumbs but not mine. I would rather use my thumbnail anyway. It feels like a cleaner sound. They provided stickers that fit nicely. The keys, or whatever they are called, are curved and if you look at my pictures, I think look elegant. There are color stickers that fit perfectly and they provided key and numbers that fit perfectly and allow me to keep the elegant look and sound. It comes with a tuning hammer, a cleaning cloth, a manual and a very nice carry bag/cover to put the Kalimba in. The instructions are very easy to understand. The price was excellent and the quality is just as excellent. I was not expecting such a quality instrument, but it has exceeded my expectations. I was thinking I would have to spend a lot more to get something like this. The Kalimba by Tanedar is as good as or better than the Gecko that my friend has. They were envious when I showed it to them. My son was very happy with it and he has been playing on it for the past several days. His best friend came over and is wanting one now. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask. I am very happy to support good quality purchases. I was asked once why I buy so many things from Amazon. Well, I don't buy a lot, but when I do, I trust my Amazon purchases.If I get something that wasn't as described or if there is something wrong with a product, Amazon makes it easy to take care of and when I find a great product like this Tanedar Kalimba at such a great price, it makes me feel beeter to find new products to expand my choices. I had a Kalimba in the 1960s in college and it kept me company for a couple of years. I prospected in the summer months and spent a LOT of time alone. I'd play it at night before going to sleep. I remembered that thing and recently bought one for my grandkids. I decided to buy one for myself when I heard the sound, My old Kalimba was a dud compared to this one. My wife commented that it sounds like a harp. Great resonance. Re-learned "King of the Fairies" in a day and moving on to reading and writing music for it again. Pretty damn cool. Quality workmanship. nice and hardwood. My old one must have been made of pine. This is the easiest of all the 11 instruments I've played in my life and I probably like it best because it is a personal thing. You can amplify them, but Kalimbas are for you, not anyone else. If you can't play a Kalimba, you can't play anything - well, maybe a drum.

When I tried to use it I was like, uh this is horrible. Terrible sound, ugly, and forget about strumming the keys. I just thought I wasn't able do it. I decided to try a different brand an WAH LA.....it wasn't me and I can do it.
This Unokki truly is wonderful. Right out of the box I was making beautiful sounds with no struggle at all. AND the notes are engraved into the Keys!! No tacky looking stickers. The wood is so nice. Go for it!!!

I just got this today and learned a little song on it and I’m really happy with it! My only problem with it is that one of the D notes sounds funky every now and then. You can hear it in the video once or twice. I am a complete beginner so it could be me, but I don’t think so since it’s the only key that does it. I’m not sure if that’s fixable. But overall I think the instrument sounds and looks really nice for the price.

READ. So this is a truly stunning instrument. It plays BEAUTIFULLY even fresh out the box. It is honestly amazing quality despite the price. The wood is gorgeous and the sound is breathtaking. The carrying “bag” is kinda crappy lol. The tuner is very nice. HOWEVER. The company sucks! It took them forever to ship it despite my 2 day prime that I pay for. I kept getting emails that it was getting delayed. The instruction / guide book is also useless.
