Vintage Santo Domingo Koshare Painted Clown Felt Cap with Horsehair & Corn Husks

The black felt cap is fringed with horsehair and sports a ponytail with a knotted end tied with green yarn. Tapering horns are painted with black and white stripes and are filled with cotton and tipped with corn husks. Koshare, meaning clown or "delight - maker", a very unique piece fresh out of a Santa Fe collector's estate and offered here for the first time. There are scattered spotted areas residue as shown. One minor slit on the backside. Normal overall wear commensurate with age and usage. Measures just under 8" diameter.
